Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, mental health has become an increasingly popular topic of conversation, especially as people have been stuck at home trying to get through the seemingly interminable lockdowns.
So, what are the mental health benefits of exercising?

I agree that exercise is great for mental health / well-being but not for mental illness. If you have severe depression it’s going to be impossible to exercise and you really need to conserve your energy when you’re ‘dying to stay alive’ with mental illness.
I think the distinction needs to be made so that people know that having mental illness isn’t their fault for not exercising!

Exercise is not just about aerobic capacity and muscle size. Sure, exercise can improve your physical health and your physique, trim your waistline, improve your sex life, and even add years to your life. But that’s not what motivates most people to stay active.

I think people are not perfect if they have some mental health issues. I’m also a therapist and I know the importance of mental health and also I suggest those people who are suffering from mental health issues can get therapy from those therapists which you feel comfortable.
